PSJA ISD Fine Arts students advance to State Art Competition

Pharr – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) art students competed at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Nikki Rowe High School and earned 117 medals. 

The mission of the VASE is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. 

The following students advanced to the state VASE to be held in April: 

• Lesly Barrera                   PSJA Southwest Early College High School 

• Vivian Castellano           PSJA Early College High School 

• Julian Covarrubias         PSJA North Early College High School *had two pieces advance 

• Sophia Rodriguez           PSJA Early College High School 

• Ashlee Simental             PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School 

• Natalia Torres                 PSJA Southwest Early College High School 

• Sophia Vasquez              PSJA Early College High School 

• Emma Zepeda                PSJA Southwest Early College High School 

• Jacquelyn Zuniga   PSJA North Early College High School
